The Rosevine is quite different - it's not a hotel, but it's not strictly self catering either. You have your own self-contained space, but you can also use the rest of the house too.
Downstairs the house has a sunny dining room, where modern country food is served. A family den with large screen tv, Xbox, and toys and games, and a grown- ups drawing room.
Relaxed and friendly, it's great for families, couples or small groups of friends. On hand are a small team of professional staff who combine informality with great hosting.
It's a perfect combination for a relaxing holiday or short break in Cornwall. Porthcurnick beach, owned by the National Trust, is an idyllic safe sandy beach, and it's just a 2 minute stroll away down the lane. Its calm waters are perfect for swimming and you can go rock pooling at low tide. We are just four miles from the St Mawes, where you can wander around the small boutiques, visit St Mawes castle or hop on the passenger ferry to Falmouth.
The sheltered coastal village of Portscatho is just along the coastal footpath and we are a stone’s throw from some of the best sailing waters in the UK.
Apartments and studios
The Rosevine has 8 family apartment style suites and 4 studios, all with mini kitchens for rustling up light meals and snacks. Painted with traditional colours, the apartments are filled with a mix of old and restored french pieces which nestle up against more moderns finds. Most have sea views and private terraces, and children have separate sleeping areas. (Sorry but we don't accept dogs in the main house)
The Slate House studios
We also have 3 small studios in The Slate House (across from the main house). With wooden floorboards, rugs and iron or wooden beds, they are more simply styled. Each has a "beach hut" style kitchenette with toaster, microwave, kettle and fridge. Two lead to a small shared garden and one has an enclosed terrace. Two have wet rooms with showers, and one has a bathroom with freestanding bath. (The 3 studios are adjacent to each other, but do not interconnect.) 1 dog accepted in each by prior arrangement. Subject to nightly charge and a few house rules!
House facilities and services
The shared spaces in the house, include a peaceful drawing room with wood burning stove and squashy sofas, a sunny dining room, children's playroom and an indoor swimming pool. here is also wireless internet access and a guest laundry room.
Bring along your favourite foods, or enjoy simple freshly prepared food from our chefs in the house kitchen. "Eat out" downstairs in the dining room or order from our deli list for readymade meals.
In the grounds is a large lawn for relaxing on and a lower field with trampoline, climbing frame and swings.
NEW - we now also have a self catering house in the grounds called The Lookout.
